Texas A&M Forest Service has expanded its wildfire fleet with the addition of three new multi-mission aircraft. This purchase is part of the state's effort to build its first dedicated wildfire aviation fleet. The expansion is made possible through funding allocated by House Bill 500.

The new aircraft join two wildfire suppression helicopters that were added recently. In total, nine aircraft are now staged in Texas for wildfire response. Further information on the expansion and the Texas A&M Forest Service's wildfire response efforts can be found through the agency or news outlets.
